Dr. Claussen received his medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, Colorado. He completed his residency and Board Certification specializing in Family Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Swedish Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Claussen co-founded Aspen Family Care in 1997. Inspired with the new and exciting field of medical aesthetics, Dr. Claussen and his partner, Dr. Jill Pechacek, founded Aspen Medical Aesthetics in 2008.

Dr. Claussen has undergone extensive training and has earned certification in facial rejuvenation performing aesthetic treatments with Botulinum toxin type A (BOTOX®) and dermal fillers such as Juvederm®, and Radiesse®. He has also received advanced certification in Laser Hair and Vein Removal, Laser Skin Rejuvenation, Medical Microdermabrasion Treatments, Skin Conditioning and Chemical Peeling.

Dr. Claussen has achieved double Board Certification in medical aesthetics by the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine and family medicine by the American Academy of Family Physicians. He is an active member of the American Medical Association and Colorado Medical Society and continues ongoing aesthetic training and certification with the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.

Dr. Claussen resides in Denver and enjoys outdoor activities including sports, running, biking, hiking, skiing, photography, painting, music, playing guitar, and gardening.
