When my wife, Teresa, and I were searching for a dog to adopt we were amazed by both the number of dogs that needed homes (there were 175,000 dogs on petfinder.com alone!) and the number of rescue organizations in operation to help these dogs.  Every time we saw a dog that we were considering, we’d speak to someone at the rescue organization and, afterwards, felt compelled to make a contribution to their efforts.  Each of them had dedicated their lives to saving dogs and all of them, no matter the size of the operation, where struggling financially to do so.  Many of them relied on charitable cash contributions to survive.  Unfortunately, Teresa and I are not independently wealthy, so making large cash donations was not an option.

After doing some research, I decided that the best way to assist as many organizations as possible (and, therefore, as many dogs as possible) was to create an effective means of fundraising for these dedicated individuals.  The idea of Rescue Me™ treats was born; the concept is modeled after Girl Scout® cookies.

We market a super-premium, 100% natural dog treat that can be sold without having to take inventory, enabling rescue organizations the opportunity to generate profits for themselves (see the Programs page for details).  Because the product being sold is consumable, it can be sold over and over to the same people.  Dog owners are going to buy treats for their dogs anyway, why not give the treat that gives back?

Oh, and we did find and adopt a wonderful young dog, whom we named Griffin.  You’ll see him featured throughout this site and on our packaging.  He’s the center of our household and brings joy to our lives every day.  If we could, we’d rescue 174,999 others.
