Tulio Almeida G.G.. has learned the ins-and-outs of the 4Cs of a diamond after years of working in the diamond district of New York and grading diamonds. Because diamonds are rare and valuable, the 4Cs are a great tool for decision making before a purchase is made. There is much more into a diamond selection than just the 4Cs, no 1 Carat diamond will be the same as the next. The cutting industry can use clever ways of cutting a diamond, to save the highest weight possible on that diamond, violating the proportions on how ideal diamond cut should be, and still keeping the weight at 1 Carat.
The 4 Cs of diamonds are:
- Carat Weight
- Color
- Clarity
- Cut
1) Carat Weight- Is how heavy a diamond is : one carat is equal to 0.2 grams.
2) Color- In transparent diamond, the colorless the diamond is the more valuable.
3) Clarity- Is how often a diamond contains internal inclusions and external blemishes.
4) Cut- Is how a cut a diamond reflects back light and life into the eyes of the beholder. |
